vintage watches in ItalyThe Ascari family has been in the jewellery and watch business for many years now. Great-grandfather Ascari’s passion for watch-case, dials and interior mechanisms does in fact date back to the end of the 19th century, and this passion soon became his trade.
The professional skills and the propensity of the family for clocks and watches, passed down from father to son, have today been inherited by Nino, also known as Gianni, owner of the shops called ASCARI ART of TIME, who began working in the business in the early-1970s, managing the shop and the adjacent repair workshop and learning all the techniques and secrets of what can quite rightfully be called an art.
In the following decade, the 1980s, interest and involvement in vintage watches grew and the business began focusing on restoration and the sale of vintage and collectors’ pieces.
Starting in the 1990s, the business began specialising only on this latter sector. National and international markets were scoured to find top-quality watches for sale to customers; during this period, Gianni took part in professional update courses in the field of repair and restoration, including at the prestigious WOSTEP Swiss watch-making school at Neuchâtel.
The passion, the experience, the expertise acquired over the years and the reliability for which we are renowned, enable us to offer totally original and perfectly functional collectors’ watches. So if it’s quality you are looking for, you’re welcome.
